Those are Krispie Kreme Bacon Cheeseburgers.
From flickr,

Could buying a Prius right now actually set you back $$ instead of saving money on gas?
Take a look at
this article I found on cNet:
Do the math. A nicely equipped 2007 Honda Civic EX with equal mileage
carries a suggested retail price of about $18,300. Assuming 30 miles
per gallon for the Civic, and 45 miles per gallon for the Prius, it
could take around 13 years to recoup the extra money
for the Prius at $5 per gallon (assuming 12,000 miles per year of
driving). Now I know that there are a lot of assumptions in this
formula, but suffice it to say that when you do the math, the Civic
seems like a better deal overall--not to mention that the EX has a
Sunroof to boot.Very interesting... maybe i'm not doing so bad with my 2007 Civic!

I've been back from Guatemala for 9 days now, and I'm still finding it hard to get back in the groove. Which, I guess, is probably a good thing. You know, I'm not letting the experience get pushed back so I forget about what I saw and experienced.
I would like to share a few photos with all of you.
First, here's some kids from the squatters area at our VBS.

Isn't that little girl precious? The corrugated tin/metal is very typical for "houses," especially those near the garbage dump. A typical street/alley? Scroll down...

Next time you complain about a roof leak or plumbing problems... be thankful you have a roof. Be thankful you have indoor plumbing.
I met so many amazing people... and the most adorable children.

By far, one of the most difficult things to witness is the people working in the garbage dump. They rummage through garbage for household items, toys, and things they can sell for recycling purposes.

I will try to post some more photos soon. Stay tuned.
Don't forget to be thankful.

As I was browsing the other local media Web sites in Milwaukee, I saw a headline that grabbed my attention: Sewer overflow is most since deep tunnel.
This didn't get my attention for the reason you're probably thinking.
It reminded me of a conversation I had last week with my mission team in Guatemala.
Here's the punchline:
TT: I mean, seriously, who poops in their water supply?
*pause*
TT: oh wait, we do.
Guess even a "civilized" society such as ours isn't really that much better than the people living in a third-world country, living in corrugated tin houses next to a garbage dump.

I decided to head over to Larry's Market for some lunch today. Got my favorite - twice-baked potato with sour cream (hot sauce is at my desk at work). Since they didn't have my Lemon Tarragon Chicken Salad today, I got a turkey sandwich. Of course... all wrapped up with a KILLER BROWNIE (yes, that's what they're called) and I tried something new: Honest Ade: Cranberry Lemonade.
oh my gosh. this is delicious stuff people.
while I did manage to spill it on my white shirt (I'm a klutz), I do have to say it is quite the thirst-quencher.
Wonder if I can get this at the grocery store?

...and it's not one a plunger will fix.
HAHA! Have you guys seen this story?
The international space station has a plumbing problem: the lone toilet is broken. So NASA may make an in-orbit plumbing service call when space shuttle Discovery visits next week.
Until then, the three-man crew will have to make do with a jury-rigged system when they need to urinate.
NASA
says the crew has used the toilet on the Soyuz return capsule, but it
has a limited capacity. They are now using a back-up bag-like
collection system that can be connected to the broken toilet.
A NASA spokesman added, "Like any home anywhere the importance of having a working bathroom is obvious."
*insert potty joke here*

So this will probably only be interesting if you're a techie like myself, but Microsoft just unveiled a new add-on for IE.
It's called IE7Pro.
Basically, it makes IE7 a little more like Firefox (which btw, if you haven't downloaded
FF3 Beta5, please do so immediately. It ROCKS).
But, will it get rid of that horrid grey background when you build a site with .png files?
Doubtful.
Boo.

I am starting to lose faith in humanity.
Since when do you need that extra couple feet of room between you and your... laptop? Isn't the whole point of a laptop... to have the ability to use your computer - ON YOUR LAP?!
Yes that's right folks - you're seeing KEYBOARD PANTS in action. Seriously? Is this REALLY necessary? Oh, and your eyes aren't deceiving you - the keyboard pants come complete with a mouse.
Here's the description from Fubiz (translated from french using Babelfish):
An invention of Erik De Nijs with these trousers as a Jean,
integrating a keyboard bluetooth as well as loudspeakers and a
telegraphic mouse. Completely equipped for mobility, the explanations
in images and in the continuation.h/t tapps

Some of you might remember my Hot on the Web segment last year on FOX 6 WakeUp. Well, I’m resurrecting it in blog form. I’ll blog about what I find on the Internets every Wednesday.
From now on, there will be Hot on the Web Wednesdays here at MyFoxMilwaukee.com. Sometimes, I might share a few web sites… while other weeks I might just talk about interesting concepts making waves online. We’ll have a mix of linky love for the ‘Average Joe’ and tech talk for the geeks out there like me.
A while back, I
told y’all about my ICanHasCheeseburger.com
therapy and I’ve found another site for all you animal lovers… CuteOverload.com! I’m pretty sure this
site could make even the most grumpy, angry person smile. You can’t help but
get a little smile on your face when scrolling through the different photos and
videos.
While I like to pride myself on my cooking skills (sans
recipe of course)… I think CookingByNumbers.com
is a very interesting idea. Basically, you log on, check the boxes
corresponding to what you have in your fridge and/or pantry… and voila – a recipe
for dinner! I haven’t tried any recipes yet, but it’s a very interesting
concept. If you try it, let me know how it goes!
I came across this
item while perusing various craft sites/forums. Not only is it perfect for
a TV web producer (such as me), it’s also handmade! I love handmade items! ArtSchoolDropOut.com
is selling it for $15. *Ahem* Christmas in April anyone?
Thanks for checking out the first HOT on the Web blog! Look for the next installment April 16. And, if you have a link you think I should check out, post a comment below!
UPDATE #1: I mistakenly left one fantastic item off this week's Hot on the Web -- You won't want to miss this killer YouTube Video! And by killer, I mean "Thriller."
